Safeguarding and Policy
What Safeguarding processes are in place?
Universal Roots CIC offers health promotion, health education and self-development services. Although aspects of the material are therapeutic the company cannot take responsibility for managing peoples care, therefore course participants will need to fill in screening forms prior to starting the course in order to establish their suitability for embarking on this learning journey. All courses with young people under the age of 18 will need to be delivered in association with a safe base such as a school, college or youth club, where there is a clear point of contact in terms of sharing information, in order to manage any disclosures regarding safeguarding effectively.
Adults and young people engaging in the courses will be required to agree to a confidentiality agreement that clearly communicates the need to pass on safeguarding information to the appropriate service where necessary.
There is a safeguarding policy in place for both adults and young people.
(The courses, classes, and services are not a substitute for any kind of required health care, they are available through appropriate referral at a preventative level, for the purpose of improving awareness, education and skills).
Services are delivered to the highest standard, professionally, in a spirit of social change, giving people an opportunity and a space to think about recognising and reaching their full potential, be it personal or professional, in the context of the interconnectedness of society, in the hope of playing a part in helping to create a better world for the generations to come.
Diversity, Flexibility & Community Focused
The company will work diversely, delivering face-to-face group work and/ or consultations from a number of satellite sites in order to be flexible and reach across the community. It will work alongside a number of statutory and non-statutory organisations, as well as private businesses in order to ensure that these services reach the people who will benefit from them most.
